With a U.S. military background and extensive winery experience, Drew Prout holds a managerial role with Three Fox Vineyards in Delaplane, Virginia. The winery where Drew Prout works sits on 50 rolling acres of “horse country.” Only a short distance from Washington D.C., the vineyard delivers grapes reminiscent of those found in Italy’s Tuscany and Piemonte region.
One of the distinct aspects of the family-run operation is the way in which it acts as a community hub, with The Thirsty Fox Lounge converted from a “vine-side barrel bar”
into a cool weather wine lounge in November.
The lounge regularly features music by local artists such as Paul Moschetto, Jimmy Lee, and Melanie Miller. Just before Thanksgiving, an annual “Sparkling for the Holidays” event is scheduled that pairs the energetic group Robbie Limon with a mouthwatering “Barbecue U” Food Truck. Another anticipated social event is the “Three Fox Murder Mystery Dinners at Denim & Pearl’s.”
For three days, starting on Black Friday, the “Three Fox Post Turkey Trot Day Weekend” provides visitors with access to significant discounts on exceptional bottles. These include vintages such as the 2017 La Giacosa Springlot Reserve Chardonnay and the 2017 Calabrese Pinot Grigio.
